Jackrabbit Whirligig 2 + Vollis Simpson

Item: The Jackrabbit whirligig is back in the shop for some more layout planning after spending the day in the art department with Donnas Art. The platform is ready and with some articulation and a stand base we can give it a whirl after Donna completes it. Look at the Lazy Fox on http://www.whimsytwo.etsy.com/ for a comparable whirligig.
At the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Repair and Conservation Headquarters there is also some ongoing audio oral history preservation taking place. Here Melanie Merz from Seattle is in town in association with the Southern Folklife Collection project recording stories. (Tonight Vollis Simpson is in Raleigh with Gov. Bev Perdue for dinner at the mansion and his big state honor ceremony at the History Museum and will be wearing his first tux no less.)
