The Vollis Simpson Whirligig Museum.Park Project in Wilson, NC got a boost with some recent funding and added 7 more to the teams working on the whirligigs. The "Saw Dog" is going ahead with some surface treatment and should be completed with coatings first.
Andrew Johnson born in Raldigh, NC became the 17th. president of the United States and the only one to hold all four kinds of office attainable under the constitution, legislative, judicial, military, and executive both V.P. and President. He never spent a day in the classroom in his life and educated himself. Passage of the Homestead Act was his. An early life apprentice obligation took him into the tailor trade and as president he endeavored to stitch the United States together again after the Civil War and was misunderstood. An acrimonious congress tried impeachment and by one vote failed. Voted out when U.S. Grant became president Johnson was not done yet. Back to Tennessee He directly got elected again to the senate (and the same room where the impeachment trial was held).
